And after three years of searching and trying out high-end rentals, they finally landed on a jaw-dropping mansion in Bel Air—worth a cool $88 million.
The house originally had a $120 million price tag, but the power couple managed to buy it for less in 2017, according to Architectural Digest.
This isn’t just any home—it’s a 30,000-square-foot mega-mansion built by developer Dean McKillen, and it’s split across six separate buildings.
Inside, there are eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and just about every luxury feature you can imagine. We’re talking about a 15-car garage, a private home theater (with a door rumored to be wrapped in actual lizard skin), a spa, four swimming pools, a basketball court, and even staff quarters to keep things running smoothly.
Believe it or not, despite their wealth, Beyoncé and Jay-Z took out a $52.8 million mortgage to buy the house.
According to the Los Angeles Times, their monthly payment comes out to around $149,600. That’s more than most people make in a year!
But when it comes to luxury, they didn’t stop at just buying the place.
They spent another $800,000 on renovations—including a $30,000 backup generator and a wild $750,000 under-pool living space.
Oh, and that rooftop pool? It’s just one of four on the property, each on a different level of the massive backyard.
Security was clearly a priority too. The mansion is fitted with bulletproof windows—so while the views of Los Angeles are amazing, the safety is top-tier.
Inside, the vibe is sleek and modern with a minimalist design—but the real stars of the show are the incredible pieces of artwork throughout.
